Why are company members required to take yoga and pilates classes?

The answer is very simple. Dancers are athletes and young dancers training at a preprofessional level are very active! So it is important to take additional fitness classes to stay strong and healthy while training. Yoga and pilates classes are excellent for dancers of all ages and have been shown to help build dance techniques while also reducing risk of athletic injury.

Weekly Rehearsals

All levels have a minimum of two rehearsals a week. When registering dancers are able to state a ma number of routines they would like to be considered for with a max of 10 routines, including solo, duo, trios per season for all dancers. In addition, dancers can opt out of being considered for a solo, duo, or trio if not desired. *Solo, duo, trio, rehearsals are additional to group rehearsals each week.*

Additionally, dancers may be asked to attend other level rehearsals for large group and production pieces during the week. Dancers will NOT be considered for a tap or acro routine unless they are in tap and/or acro weekly classes. In addition, dancers will not be given any acro or gymnastic passes in routines unless in an acro, tumbling, or gymnastics weekly class.

Dancers joining company join a supportive and positive dance family filled with unique opportunities and performances while building friendships and memories to last a life time.
